Program Highlights
Lifting Lives now cares for sixty-six children and welcomed eight new children this year. Among them is Marion, nearly three years old. When she arrived, she was severely malnourished, underdeveloped for her age, and unable to walk. Her mother was ill and struggling with depression, leaving her unable to provide adequate care.
With your support, we provided treatment and physical therapy for Marion’s mother, while Marion joined our home. She began school, received medical care and proper nutrition, and within just two months, she was able to walk independently.
Construction completed
Our new 7,000 sq ft home is complete! It now houses 66 children and three matrons, providing more space, better care, and a safer, more nurturing environment. This marks a major step forward for our growing community as the children settle into their new home.
Beekeeping Program
In partnership with Honey Care Africa, we held our second beekeeping training, giving participants hands-on instruction and starter kits. This program is creating new income opportunities, empowering the community, and continuing to grow with strong interest and a growing waitlist.
Carolyne's College Tour
Carolyne Ashiono, Director of Daisy Academy and guardian of the Lifting Lives children, visited Salt Lake City this year. She met with Ensign College leaders to discuss future opportunities and later spoke at BYU–Idaho, sharing her story and inspiring students to make a difference.
Dear Lifting Lives Family
As we reflect on the past 10 years, we are filled with deep gratitude for the growth and transformation made possible by your unwavering support. In 2013, we began with just 14 children in our care. Today, in 2024, we serve 66 children-each receiving quality education, nutritious food, medical care, and the emotional and psychological support they need to thrive. Our children range from infants in primary school to young adults in technical training and mentorship programs. Every number represents a life changed-and your role in that journey cannot be overstated. Our community of sponsors and donors has grown right alongside the children we serve. In 2019, we were supported by 38 sponsors and donors. Today, we are 125 strong-and growing. Because of you, eight children joined our Lifting Lives family this year, including Emily and her younger brothers Boniface and Daniel. These three children were living on their own without parents to care for them. Today, they are attending school, and living in the Lifting Lives home receiving love, food, medical care and everything they need to thrive. This is the power of your partnership in action. We take our responsibility seriously-ensuring every donation is used with integrity and in alignment with our mission. We often say we wish each of you could travel with us to see the impact for yourself. Until then, please know this: your generosity is not only changing lives-it is shaping futures and strengthening generations to come. From all of us, and from our extended family in Kenya, thank you.
